With six miles of beaches between the San Elijo and Batiquitos Lagoons, the surfs always up in Encinitas America’s premier Surf City and the Flower Capital of America.
With its natural beauty and temperate weather, Encinitas is a spectacular place to live and play. The historic community is primarily residential, not tourist-oriented. Indeed, it boasts some 20 family oriented parks, and ten public beaches.
Quail Botanical Gardens features rare bamboo groves, desert gardens, a tropical rain forest, native California plants, Mediterranean landscapes, an undersea succulent garden and a subtropical fruit garden.
Swamis, the southern most beach in Encinitas, is popular with surfers and offers spectacular views from rugged sandstone cliffs. Moonlight Beach is popular with families and the Boneyard with those who like to sunbathe nude.
Large, remodeled homes cozy up to tiny rustic bungalows along the beach. Further east, across the highway there’s been an explosion of newer homes, town homes, and condominiums. Encinitas luxury homes often feature four or five bedrooms on extremely large lots.
Executive mansions can be found on multi-acre ranchettes. Encinitas golf course communities are popular with retirees. Of Encinitas 25,000 housing units, some 14,000 are single-family detached homes, 4,500 are town homes and 5,700 are condominiums.
Encinitas homes prices can range from $300,000 to $8,000,000 while Encinitas condos run from $300,000 up to a high of $2,000,000.
